Default Cheapest/Fastest Treasure Hunter Runs

Hello, Im just wondering, Im not the richest guy ever but I accumulate a bit of money without speed clearing or power trading.

Im wondering which specific run will gain treasure hunter points in the fastest and cheapest amount of time. Time management is a priority but Money saving is an even bigger one.

Im usually never lucky with drops so doing specific runs in hopes for good items isnt very important to me.

Bonus question, if it applies: how much gold do you think you spent maxing it, if you have

It's hard to beat Boreal Station runs. I've had as many as three chests in a single ~1 minute run before. If you do it in Normal Mode, it's the ideal chest - it counts for Treasure Hunter, but you have the greatest chance to keep your lockpick since it's the lowest quality chest that can count. Somebody will inevitably come mention Fort Ranik or something for lucky points and getting multiple uses out of your lockpicks, so let me just say it now - those chests don't count for Treasure Hunter unless in Hard Mode, at which point your retention percentage drops significantly.

The following is a list of the chests which have the highest potential to keep a lockpick but still count for Treasure Hunter, as well as a popular location for chest runs if you're looking for variety.

Prophecies - Southern Shiverpeaks (Witman's Folly)
Factions - Echovald Forest/Jade Sea (Gyala Hatchery)
Nightfall - Vabbi (Mirror of Lyss)
Eye of the North - all chests (Ice Cliff Chasms)

Did you take advantage of this weekend that just passed? if you are looking to max that title, farming Golden eggs is the best thing you could have done, every time you pick one up that is assigned to you it gives you a point to the title, imo is the cheapest way to max the title, no lock-picks required, farming is free and you get to use/sell the eggs

just run out to ice cliff chasms from boreal station. there's only one path and there's 3 chest spawn areas within 60-70 seconds of running out of the portal.

if you have the right build, there's 6 chest spawn points up to the frozen lake before getting to eotn. i've had 2 or 3 runs with 5 chests (under 2 min) but those are rare. its a lot faster to just check the first spawn point and from there you can see the next 2 spawn points. grab those chests and then just /resign.

don't forget to walk out of the portal at boreal station then walk back into town and out again so that when you /resign you show back up right next to the portal.

Gate of Fear runs for stormbows.

Hard to not make a profit, a q9 stormbow can still fetch 50k~ within 10 minutes, not to mention the occasional ghostly/magmas/eternal shield
